Early Years Educator

In my capacity as an early years educator, I’ve gained experience across a range of institutions including Blossom Nursery, Ambassador Kindergarten, and Kids Academy Nursery, with my most recent position being at The Aquila School.

I’ve organized a variety of engaging sensory-based activities for the children during my tenure at Aquila, such as woodworking sessions for FS1 and FS2, perfume making, STEM-based play, sewing clothes for dolls, and, of course, cooking sessions 🙂

I conduct play-based activities in both small group settings and whole group lessons, employing strategic management techniques to embed routines and structure effectively. I plan and facilitate engaging lessons, utilizing best practices to support the academic, social, and emotional development of children.

The Early Years Foundation Stage is a great educational system of learning as it provides:

  1. Holistic Development: EYFS focuses on the holistic development of children, encompassing all aspects of their growth including physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  2. Child-Centred Approach: EYFS emphasizes a child-centred approach, where the needs, interests, and unique qualities of each child are central to the learning process.
  3. Play-Based Learning: EYFS recognizes the importance of play in children’s learning and development. It provides ample opportunities for children to engage in purposeful play, exploration, and discovery.
  4. Creativity and Imagination: EYFS encourages creativity and imagination through a wide range of activities and experiences that allow children to express themselves freely and develop their artistic abilities.
  5. Strong Foundation for Learning: EYFS lays a strong foundation for future learning by fostering essential skills such as communication, language, literacy, and numeracy in a supportive and nurturing environment.
  6. Partnership with Parents: EYFS values the partnership between parents and practitioners, recognizing parents as the primary educators of their children. It promotes open communication and collaboration to support children’s learning and development both at home and in the early years setting.
  7. Celebrating Diversity: EYFS celebrates diversity and promotes inclusion, ensuring that all children feel valued, respected, and included regardless of their background, abilities, or circumstances.

Overall, the EYFS framework provides a rich and stimulating environment where children can thrive, explore, and reach their full potential in a supportive and nurturing setting.
